PEKiP
So what exactly is PEKiP?
The Prague Parent–Child Programme accompanies parents and relatives with their children in a small group during the first year of life. Babies are very active from birth and learn more about our world than we could ever imagine. With their birth, their very own developmental journey begins. At the weekly course meetings in our cosy, warm room, the children can follow their natural and spontaneous movements, while parents and relatives find time to perceive and understand their baby. Through relaxed observation, they come to see that their child works out its development at its very own pace and rhythm. My wish is that parents and relatives respond to the differences between babies of the same age not with judgement, worry or competition, but recognise the diversity of development as individual character. Should any worries arise, I am happy to arrange an individual appointment with the parents and their child.
Our approach
It is important that parents recognise the uniqueness of their child and avoid excessive comparisons. Instead, we want to create an atmosphere together in which every development is seen as something special. Should any worries or uncertainties arise, I am happy to be available for individual conversations. The Prague Parent–Child Programme is a heartfelt matter for me: as the facilitator of these groups, I want to help parents build a deep connection with their babies and understand their child better. In our warm and cosy rooms, the babies can move freely and discover their natural abilities, while the parents calmly observe how unique their child's development is. Every baby develops at its own pace and in its own individual way.
Our shared meeting
The PEKiP meetings are 90 minutes full of fun, bonding and development! They lastingly strengthen parents' self-confidence and offer the chance to learn from one another. Through contact with other parents and their children of the same age, we build valuable relationships. We exchange ideas on important developmental topics — restless babies, the many facets of children's sleep, psychomotor development and the introduction of solid foods. Questions about childcare, returning to work and your own topics are warmly welcome too!
Course fee
The fee for one course (8 × 90 min.) is €145.00.
